The Maya were an ancient civilization long ago in what was known as Mesoamerica. The Mayan civilization started out around 1800 b.c.e. and still exist in today's culture in the Central America region.

Much mystery surrounds the Mayan civilization and were thought to be descendents of East Asians who migrated thousands of year ago.

The Maya are best known for their innovations in architecture, construction and creating their great beautiful cities and pyramids resembling that of the ancient Egyptians. The Maya were also well known for their scientific advances in math and astronomy which are greatly reflected in the large cities they left behind and the art left behind in the great monuments they produced thousands of years ago.

The Maya and the 2012 Connection

The connection between Dec. 21st year 2012 and the Mayan civilization offers a lot of questions and even more speculation only adding to the mystery behind the 2012 phenomenon.

The Maya, who had created a massive and powerful civilization were well versed in their knowledge of numbers and the stars above. The Maya created a number of calendars marking different dates and numbers. The Mayan "Long" Calendar, known more commonly as the Mayan Calendar depicts a spans of time in which one time begins and another ends. The end of this calendar marks the date December 21st, year 2012 which provides even more mystery to the Mayan 2012 mystery.

The Mayan Calendar is said to end in 2012, specifically 12/21/2012. Coincidentally, this marks the exact time and date of the great Galactic Alignment which will occur on... you guessed it, December 21st 2012.

The Lost Book of Nostradamus

The Lost Book of Nostradamus refers to a book containing a compilations of images known as Vaticinia Nostradami (Prophecies of Nostradamus).

The Lost Book of Nostradamus contains a series of 80 water color images in addition to some text. These images portray a number of different images such as wheels, religious figures, swords, trees, beasts, suns and various other depictions in which seems ultimately symbolic and uses the figures to point, encompass, hit, look and direct as to contain a deeper meaning within the illustrations.

One of the many mysteries surrounding this book is that it seems to assign Nostradamus as the original creator within the text of the book. What makes this so mysterious is that there is evidence which suggests that Nostradamus most likely didn't create the water color art. In fact, the publication was dated several centuries before the time Nostradamus existed.

Discovered Recently, in 1994 an Italian journalist found the ancient relic in the Italian National Library in Rome. Since then the Lost Book of Nostradamus has created a great amount of attention, mystery and intrigue as to the true origins of the book.

Although there is no proof as to Nostradamus being the creator of the book, many Nostradamus enthusiasts believe that the pages in the book go hand in hand with the prophetic quatrains of Nostradamus.

The Lost Book of Nostradamus connection to 2012

A common conclusion with the Lost Book of Nostradamus is that it may refer to the End of Days or Doomsday and/or possibly ties in with an astrological anomoly having to do with the Galactic Alignment starting in December 21st year 2012. In addition some people say the depictions predict the fall of the Catholic church, the coming of the 3rd antichrist among many other end of the world scenarios.

Evidence suggests also that the book has changed hands a number of times and possibly altered, added-to, re-constructed a number of times as well. Within the texts they've found that the book contains 3 separate handwritings which none of them resemble that of Michel de Nostradame (Nostradamus), however plainly written on the book it assigns Nostradamus as the creator of the work... Just another mystery of the Lost Book of Nostradamus.

One of the pages of the Lost Book of Nostradamus above shows a book which on one side is believed to possibly be the tree of life and on the right side, the only writing which is plainly visible says "One Male" in plain English which is very coincidental since Nostradamus never wrote in the English language - Some suggest that "One Male" was meant to be discovered in today's age hence it is written in plain English.

Some people also believe that the burning tower above, which is also used in Tarot readings, may depict the burning of the Twin Towers on 9/11.

In the water color painting above from the Lost Book of Nostradamus some believe is highly symbolic. Some of the theories suggests that:

	The "wheel" at the top, with eight spokes, represents the "wheel of life" or the "wheel of fortune" - A later depiction at the end shows the wheel without spokes which many believe that it resembles the end of time as we know it.
	The "tree" depicted in the picture above represents the "Tree of Life" being smashed by a club or blunt object.
	The "S" shaped ribbon around the sword depicts the Galactic Alignment in which the Earth becomes perfectly aligned with the Sun and the Center of the Milky Way Galaxy - Which is said to occur on December 21st, Year 2012.
	The "Scorpion" some believe represents the astrological sign of Scorpio.
	And the lamb at the bottom represents the return of Christ as in the book of Revelations.

Now these are simply speculations and observations of others but it definitely adds mystery to the Lost Book and the 2012 Phenomenon.

This depiction shows no spokes within the believed "wheel of life". It also shows Nostradamus holding a book which no longer has any writing on it. Does that mean the "End of Everything" or does it mean that the book of life is empty and it is up to us to create our own book, our own fate of what is to be. In a previous page of the book, it shows 3 women, which some believe to represent the 3 fates or 3 possible options. At this point of the book, one of the possible fates is no longer an option and we are left with only 2 fates at this point of time.

Nostradamus 2012

The 16th Century French prophet, alchemist, apothecary, astronomer and astrologer Michel de Nostradame, most commonly known as Nostradamus who in both his own time and now is one of the worlds most highly regarded seers and one of the most important figures in 2012 prophecies. The Nostradamus 2012 prophecies are some of the most intriguing and most chilling.

Nostradamus is quite possibly one of the worlds most recognized prophet and quite infamous for predicting some of the greatest historical events of which leads up to the year 2012 as many believe.

At a time in which such knowledge was extremely dangerous and easily life-threatening, Nostradamus was quite careful in keeping certain prophecies and predictions in deep secrecy while only unveiling the right information at the right time, and even today, many people believe that his prophecies are still carefully coming to light as the right time for them approaches.

Michel de Nostradame who managed to escape the clutches of the bubonic plague (a.k.a. black plague, black death) which wiped out a obscene amount of the European population which included his first family leaving Nostradamus alone for a period of time.

Nostradamus was born December 14th, 1503 in St. Remey-de-Provence and studied medicine in the early years of his life. He lived much of his life in secrecy as it was easy to be seen as a heretic with the ability to prophesize and predict and was charged for heresy from the church in 1538 which he was able to flee from, quite possibly saving his life.

Nostradamus was known for many of his writings and was the first in history to publish an almanac. One of his writings, Les Propheties (The Prophecies), is the text in which Nostradamus is most famous for.

Nostradamus Prophecy

Nostradamus prophecies include many historical events including his own death and possibly the end of the world, or doomsday which is said to occur in the Year 2012.

The prophecies of Nostradamus have marked great events that have happened over time including, but not nearly limited to:

	The death of Henry II from a jousting accident.
	The French revolution.
	Emperor Napoleon - possibly the first antichrist.
	WWII and the rise of Hister (Hitler) as the second antichrist. - 3rd antichrist yet to appear.
	The Kennedy assassination.
	The burning of the twin towers.
	among many other instances that have occurred throughout time.

Many of predictions of Nostradamus were cleverly concealed in riddle and secrecy as various sections or "quatrains" and use symbolism to describe future technologies in which were not evented for many years to come. Although depending on the reader, many of his predictions could be looked at in a multitude of ways and some of his predictions had either mistakes or misspellings, however Nostradamus was also known for predicting the exact names and places of famous people and events throughout history.

Nostradamus 2012 Prophecies

Among the many prophecies of Nostradamus, the ones said to come about around the year 2012 are by far the most frightening. These 2012 prophecies of Nostradamus often describe great cataclysmic disasters, from flooding, earthquakes, nuclear war, plague and starvation, the coming of the 3rd and final antichrist, the earth engulfed in flames and a large bodied mass from outer space colliding with the earth which is known by the name Wormwood. Some believe this can directly reflect what is written in the bible in the book of revelations in which the ultimate battle of good and evil takes place.

Although these prophecies may seem to describe a bleak and hopeless future, many who have thoroughly studied Nostradamus's prophecies believe that they are more of a warning rather than fated doom. Many of the prophecies of Nostradamus have an aspect of hope and undertones of choice which suggests that at the last moment we can change the way we live therefore alter the fate of the world. However, if we do not take action, if we choose to ignore the possible dangers ahead of us, we are doomed to dig our own graves unless great change occurs.

Something to take under consideration when it comes to prophecy, especially when it is presented in symbolism and puzzles, it is ultimately up to the individual to understand what each prophecy really means and how it relates to them personally. Simply because a person believes that a specific meaning of a piece of writing foretells a specific event, does not mean it can't be interpreted differently or even misinterpreted as such. This also holds true in the prophecies and quatrains of Michel de Nostradamus.'

Some Tips
• Visualize yourself in the posture before moving into it. Some of
our resistance is just a conditioned mental idea that we cannot
do the posture. Change the mental idea.
• Never force it. Allow the breath to move you gradually deeper
into the posture.
• Focus on the breath to bring lightness, ease, and fluidity into the
movement. This is not about contorting your body into some
frozen posture, there is always movement in the stillness.
• Be patient with yourself, notice that the more even your breath,
the slower the breath, the easier the movement.
• Let the thoughts go by, notice them as just thoughts, and then
let them go.
• Notice how persistent the mind can be.
• Feel the breath as an extension of the bandhas.
• What happens to your spine if you connect breath and bandhas
as you move into a posture? And if you don’t?
• As you flex the front of your thigh (quadriceps), notice the
extended stretch on the opposite side (hamstrings).

Helpful Hints
1. Listen to your body. Only through your own internal awareness
will you come to understand when to work harder or deeper
and when to move more slowly.
2. The breath should always be louder than your internal
dialogue.
3. Never force yourself into a pose, no posture is worth injury.
4. Take the ambition out of it. You are competing with no one.
5. Less is more with yoga. Take your time and build your practice
slowly, there is nowhere to “get” to.
6. Set up a regular practice for yourself. Practice is the key to the
entire science of yoga.
7. Enjoy your practice. Acknowledge and receive the gift you are
giving yourself.
